Soul Shapes is the work of leading Interior Designer Mel Sherwell. Based in Melbourne, Australia, Mel specialises in vegan interior design to create harmonious and holistic spaces with soul.
Hi, I'm Mel Sherwell, I'm an interior designer, zen addict, and founder of Soul Shapes.
My approach as an interior designer stems from a biophilic perspective. I create spaces that visually and energetically draw on nature to help us feel a sense of place + purpose.
I love offering vegan alternatives in the finishes and materials used in my projects. Incorporating the true essence of my clients into each and every project I take on is one of my strengths as a designer. My all-encompassing approach, allows me to provide transformational design solutions that support my client as they grow and evolve into their very best.
The collaborative process between designer and client is something I truly value. I really believe my success to date is due to the strong relationships I forge through my work. With a deeply personal approach, I aim to provide an alternative to large design firms.

Arc Bar celebrates the coming together of key design principles, with a focus on balancing both beauty and functionality. The piece offers a contemporary design, with gentle references to the timeless traits of Art Deco. Arc Bar has been designed with high-quality and durable finishes. The client requested a bistro facelift featuring warm, classic country pub features. In such a tricky space, with no windows and no natural light, I was able to create a sense of expansion through mirrored window boxes that provide the opportunity for increased lighting and ambiance as the pendants reflect back into the mirror.
